The British government is prepared to move forward with utilizing the full worth of immobilized Russia's assets to support Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They added that the decision would be implemented in tight collaboration with the United States.

United Kingdom sanctions have blocked more than £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were in agreement in their aim to drive progress toward employing the total worth of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to halt hostilities.

He added that additional sanctions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union representatives met in Copenhagen previously to consider employing frozen Russia's holdings for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, US President Donald Trump urged international partners to confiscate or employ frozen Russia's holdings, based on news outlets.

The total of seized Russia's funds in the Europe is assessed to be almost €211bn.

President Zelensky encourages Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the weapons procurement initiative

Russia carried out large-scale aerial attacks throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, leading to blackouts in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Two people were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the attack, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a message on social media following the strike, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike focused on civilian and energy infrastructure.

"The necessity is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the America, EU, and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions diminishes Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky noted, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky told the press he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement scheme, under which alliance members buy military equipment from the United States to provide to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's firm backing for Ukraine, he said it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce further restrictions on the Russian Federation.
