American actor Pat Finn, who featured in iconic programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles recently following treatment for cancer since 2022, according to reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
