Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
