Netflix Chooses Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed recently that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Mr. 2. The role possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that character re-envisioned as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.
The new cast member is joined by several other new cast members set to bring the group to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Though this character is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is set to return for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
