KPop Demon Hunters Floats to Take Center Stage at the Iconic Thanksgiving Parade

With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, the lineup of balloons for the 99th annual Thanksgiving parade in New York City has been unveiled. Fans of the popular animated series KPop Demon Hunters have something exciting to look forward to, as beloved characters Derpy Tiger and Sussie are set to appear as giant balloons.

The parade takes place annually in New York City, featuring a diverse array of inflatable figures from different corners of pop culture. Past participants have included everything from SpongeBob SquarePants and Scooby-Doo to anime favorites like Dragon Ball and One Piece.

Meet the Mascots: Sussie and Derpy Tiger

Derpy Tiger and Sussie appear throughout the hit animated show KPop Demon Hunters. Within the series' plot, the group Huntr/x is a K-pop girl group by day and a team of demon slayers by night, using their voices to repair the Honmoon and protect the human world from demonic threats. Similar to Huntr/x and the Saja Boys, these mascots have gained a massive following of fans worldwide and are expected to be a memorable highlight for audiences of all ages during the parade.

A Stellar Year for KPop Demon Hunters

It's no exaggeration to say that 2025 has been the year of KPop Demon Hunters. The Sony Animation production has risen to number one as the most-watched film on Netflix, received 5 Grammy nominations, and the singing stars behind the main characters—Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey)—gave a live performance on a major late-night show, delivering a stunning spectacular act.

Making things even better, the talented trio are also scheduled to perform live during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Audiences can anticipate a potentially "Golden" performance from the group.

What's Next for the Franchise?

An upcoming sequel, KPop Demon Hunters 2, is reportedly in development, with a potential release in 2029. Although fans will have to be patient, the widespread love for the original film indicates that fans will gladly wait for a follow-up worthy of the first installment. For now, fans can enjoy the incredible Derpy and Sussie balloons at the upcoming Thanksgiving parade.
