Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments in 2025 due to a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

She required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 for the first time in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
